It's the time of the year when the stone fruits are in good supply here...so I got busy, bought some apricots and then made some jam ... we also have one blackcurrant bush in the garden and there was enough fruit on it to make some jars of blackcurrant jam as well...so up into the cupboard they will go...there's nothing nicer than the flavour of home made jam..and jam making is something I had never tried until I moved to NZ...
While at Mum's I took a couple of shots of her favourite potted plants. When she moved from the old family house a few years ago she potted up a couple of frangipanis...
and another one that a neighbour had given her before they both moved from the old neighbourhood...
On the stitching front I have a lot of catch up work to do on the current project...enough said there!!!!!! must get focused again....
Hi Lyn,yummy homemade jam,well done,nice having homemade preserves.xx
ReplyDeleteYour Apricot jam looks delicious..........
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers too.
Oh yum, Lyn. The jam looks so delicious. I used to make lots of jam when we lived in a stone fruit growing area but dont get to do much of it these days.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with getting back to the stitching focus. (It will come).
The jam looks delicious. Sounds like you had a lovely time with your mum and managed to get some quilt shops in as well. Sorry about the Sydney weather--- it has been very atypical lately.
ReplyDeleteYour post has reminded me that I should make some jam and pickles/chutney soon, I didn't make much last year and we have nearly run out, the weather at the moment isn't too hot either, I hate stirring jam on a really hot day. Yummo - might just have to try apricot jam this year, yours looks really delicious.
